![]() | Ha Giang is the province located at the highest latitude in Vietnam. It shares a border with China in the north. Having spectacular scenery and many ethnic minorities, including the Dao, H’mong, Tay, and Nung, live on the rocky plateau for centuries. Ha Giang is the ideal place to organize activities such as trekking, sightseeing and mountain biking.
Example Itinerary - Create your own Vietnam vacation! Day 1: Hanoi - Viet Quang - Ha Giang (300km) (G - Guide) Drive to the far north Ha Giang province. The remote northern province of Vietnam, where H'mong people consider as their capital. Meet many ethnic villages en route with rich culture. Your route will take you through mountainous landscape and striking scenery. Overnight in Ha Giang. Day 2: Ha Giang - Yen Minh - Meo Vac - Dong Van (166 km) (B - Breakfast, G) Depart early morning to visit the wonderful world of ethnic people. Get picture of many impressive scenery en route and colorful weekly market. Heading to Dong Van via Ma Pi Leng pass to enjoy the wonderful sightseeing of this vast limestone mountain range and perpendicular walls of rock. In Dong Van, we will get the chance to visit the ancient streets with old houses of the H’mong made of clay bricks and tile roofs, built in centuries ago. Overnight in Dong Van town. Day 3: Dong Van - Yen Minh - Quan Ba - Ha Giang (160 km) (B, G) Breakfast in Dong Van then leave for the Vuong's Palace. The building used to belong to a King of H'mong people during the French domination. The palace attracts keen interest from architecturally minded visitors due to it mixed style of European and Chinese architecture. Overnight in Ha Giang. Day 4: Ha Giang - Hoang Su Phi - Xin Man - Bac Ha (209 km) (B, G) A long day but the scenery en route is incredible. Some parts of the road might be difficult to travel so make sure that you depart this day early from Ha Giang to arrive to Bac Ha in time before dark. Overnight in Bac Ha town. Note: Road from Ha Giang to Hoang Su Phi then Xin Man - Bac Ha can be bad and impossible to travel during the raining season, however a backup to travel to Bac Ha is already planned. Day 5: Bac Ha - Night train back to Hanoi (B, G) Enjoy your time in the most famous local markets (Can Cau Market on Saturday morning or Bac Ha Market on Sunday morning), an outstanding feature of ethnic people in the North. Short walk to discover some surrounding villages, home to the Tay and Flower H’mong people. Then a short transfer down to the railway station to catch the night train back to Hanoi. Day 6: Hanoi The train arrives Hanoi around 5:00 am. You will be picked up back to the Hotel for a relaxing day after a great trip with us.
