| | | | | Interior Vietnam - 13 Days This vietnam veterans tour has been designed for Ted O'Connell and anyone who is interested in Vietnam military tours. He'd like visiting interior Vietnam, including out of the way mountainous places on the Vietnam/Laos border and other remote areas of Vietnam that are both historic and unique. The tour focused to areas in the North where The PAVN embarked down the Ho Chi Minh Trail (American name) and remnants of the trail in remote areas. Like most of our Vietnam war military tours, this is an itinerary which has been customized for our clients. If you would like to have a special itinerary just for you, your family and friends, please contact us or send an email to info@funinvietnam.com. Itinerary Day 1: Hanoi (G) In the morning, you will be driven to Son Tay to visit the school compound where the American Special Forces mistakenly there were POWs. After that, your guide will take you to the International Friendship Village for Vietnamese veterans and Orange Agent victims. In the afternoon, visits to the Army Museum will present a Vietnamese perspective of the years of conflict. You’ll spend the night in Hanoi. Day 2: Hanoi - Vinh (B, G) In the morning, you’ll visit the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum in anticipation of your trip to Ho Chi Minh Trail before you board the train to Vinh. On arriving at Vinh station, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. You’ll spend the night in Vinh. Day 3: Vinh - Dong Loc - Phong Nha - Dong Hoi (B, L, G) In the morning, you’ll be driven to Dong Loc intersection which is widely regarded in Vietnamese eyes as the beginning of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. You’ll then pass through remote back country, closer to the border, as the scenery steadily becomes dominated by karst limestone rock formations. You’ll pass two famous intersections where until 1972 most of the Trail’s traffic passed over into Lao. Arriving Phong Nha in the afternoon, you’ll take a boat trip up to Phong Nha caves. It is probably the most beautiful with many fascinating rock formations with imaginative names such as Fairy Caves, Royal Court and Buddha. Phong Nha also boasts underground rivers, large caverns and passageways and broad pristine sandbanks. You’ll spend the night in Dong Hoi. Day 4: Dong Hoi – DMZ - Khe Sanh (B, L, D, G) In the morning, your car and guide will take you northwards to Quang Tri province to tour the wartime ‘De-militarised Zone’, better known as the DMZ. On arrival, you’ll visit the charming Wooden Church and, if convenient, drop in at a nearby orphanage. You’ll then travel to Konkotu village for dinner and a well-earned night’s sleep in the village Rong house. Day 7: Kontum - Pleiku (B, L, G) In the morning, you hike through the forest to Jolong village and the source of the DakBla River, crossing the KonBa hanging bridge en-route.
