The plan is to spend a few days in the Chu Lai area looking for places they spent time back in 1966, then move farther up the coast to Danang and west to Dong Ha and finally into the jungle to climb the Hill 362 and spend one or two days on top. Itinerary
Day 1:Ho Chi Minh arrival (DP) Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2:Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai (B, G in Chu Lai) In the morning, your private car and driver arrives to take you to Tan Son Nhat airport for your flight to Chu Lai. In the afternoon, your guide will show you around Chu Lai where you and your friends were duty. You’ll spend the night in Chu Lai.
Day 3 to day 4:Chu Lai (B, G) You’ll visit Chu Lai and spend whole days visiting the battlefields and historical sites around this area, including: Long Phu 1, Long Phu 2, Hill 20, Hill 502, Hill 69. You’ll spend the night in Chu Lai.
Day 5:Chu Lai - Tam Ky - Danang - Furama (B, G) After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Tam Ky and then to Danang. After checking in your hotel, your guide will show you the China Beach and then a finish up with a quiet drink at Furama resort to finish off the day in style. You’ll spend the night at Furama Resort, located on My Khe beach.
Day 6:Danang - Hue - Dong Ha (B, G) At around noontime, your car will arrive to drive you to Hue. On the way, you'll cross the high mountain pass of Hai Van. The views from the top are excellent – you should be able to see Lang Co beach and village, and the lagoon far below. You’ll then drive to Dong Ha and spend the night in Dong Ha town.
Day 7:Dong Ha - Hill 362 (B, G) After breakfast, your car will take to what was once the Hill 362.
Day 8:Hill 362 (G) Your time will be your own!
Day 9:Hill 362 - Dong Ha (G) You’ll be free in the morning and return to Dong Ha in the evening. You’ll spend the night in Dong Ha town.
Day 10:Dong Ha - DMZ - Furama in Danang (B, G) In the morning, your route will take you to Truong Son Cemetery, Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River, as well as the Vinh Moc Tunnels (these are more authentic and easier to enter than those in Cu Chi. They have been preserved more of less in their original form). In the late afternoon, you’ll return to Danang. You’ll spend the night at Furama.
Day 11:Danang - Ho Chi Minh City (B, G) In the morning, your car will arrive to drive you to the airport to board an afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City. When you arrive, a private car will be waiting to take you to your hotel in the city centre. After checking in, you’ll be free for a preliminary wander around District 1. Your overnight will be in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12:Ho Chi Minh City - COSVN - Ho Chi Minh City (B, G) A morning drive will take you to COSVN - Central Office for South Vietnam.
Day 13:Ho Chi Minh City free (B) A free day in Ho Chi Minh City to spend as you wish.
Day 14:Ho Chi Minh City departure (B, DP) In the morning, your private car and driver arrives to take you to Tan Son Nhat airport for your departure.
